[Verse 1] Peace [G]is one [Em]of the main concerns in [G]the Bible, [Em]as you read through. And [G]people have prayed for peace for centuries. We're not the first group of people who ever lived with the fear of extermination. And we so often think that we can secure our positions by [D]building [G]great strength. [Em]But the [G]Lord constantly tells us that we have to humble ourselves be[Em]fore Him. [G]And I like in the Psalms what it talks about to Israel. that says, hey, what are you going around [D]gathering up, you know, all of this, all of this [G]power for? Because your only hope [Eb]is with God.[Em] [G]And I think the same is very true of us. And so often, even in the struggle for peace, so often I think one tendency that I have is I think I will overpower the people who are in favor of war, who are in favor of violence. And I [Em]would just, I'll outspend them. [D]I'll be more popular [G]than they are. I'll be more appealing an[Em]d all this and what [G]I realize is I cannot convince people And the truth of the gospel all I can do is present them the truth of the gospel and that truth will itself convince them of what it is and one of the great truths in the gospel is just that [D]It's better to be [G]humble than to be proud and the God will exalt the humble and he [C]will bring [G]down the proud Are you [D]guys hot?[Em][G][C][D][G] And as I laid me down one [Eb]evening, [Em]I thought of Jesus[C] on th[Am]e hill,[D] and how for [G]man he [D]was [Em]weeping, when it was [C]him that [Am]they were gonna [D]kill. And I [Bm]know [G]we would have [C]saved them if [G]they [Am]only had a laugh [D]But none are [G]stronger [D]than the [Ebdim]humble [Em]and few are [C]weaker t[D]han the [G]proud[C][G] [D]And then my [G]thoughts, [D]they turned to [Em]Dav id And [G]how [C]he watched [Am]his father's flock[D] And how [G]the music [D]that he was [Em]playing [D]Calmed [C]the demons in the [Am]mighty [D]man's heart And when the [G]prophet came round [C]a -lookin' For [G]a k[Am]ing, he sought young David [D]out None are [G]stronger [D]than the humble [Em]And few [D]are weak[C] er [D]than the proud [G]And now I k[C]now you[D] know about Mos[Em]es, and how he [C]left [D]the Pharaoh's [G]court When he [C]saw [D]the injustice [Em]done to the [Am]people, the people of the [D]Lord And though [G]fear [D]drove him to [Em]hid ing The [D]Lord with cour[C]age is [Am]trembling hard in doubt [D]Cause none are str[G]onger [D]than the[Em] humble, and [D]few are [C]weak[D]er than [Em]the proud, [C]and none are I'm [G]stronger than [D]the hum[Em]ble[C][Am] [Outro 1] [D][G]
