[Verse 1] Little [D]Alice in Toyland Once upon a time, after a tasty breakfast, a little girl named Alice could [A]play at last. So [D]out into the garden she did go, [A]carrying her kitten, lit[D]tle Shelby [Em]Snow. She had [D]string for Shelby to chase, and to the end of [A]the garden they did race. As [D]the kitten pounced on the jumbly string, Little Alice caught a glimpse of something. [A]What had[D] Little Alice found? Sticking up right there out of the ground, it was an odd lump among the pink roses, purple tulips and garden hoses. She got on her hands and knees and dusted off the [Eb]soil carefully. [D]Oh, it's a book !" Little Alice [Eb]said. A strange [D]big book, all rusty and red. Alice tugged and heaved [Eb]at the b[Gm]ook. [Eb]It popped out the ground and she took a quick [D]look. The pages showed a magical map. But she didn't know that this was [Eb]a trap. [D]The map sai[Eb]d TOYLAND [C]in [Gm]tiny [D]letters. Alice peered close [Eb]to look at it better. [Fm]As she leant in, WHOOSH! [Gm]Little Alice yelled! And down [Eb]and down into the [Cm]pages she fell. [D]Little Alice found herself [Eb]in [Cm]Toyland, [Eb]where tin soldiers played in a marching [Cm]band. [Gm]Rocking [D]horses were rocking ahead. What a [Gm]strange [Dm]place! Little Alice said. [D]A cuddy caterpillar was nearby. Help! I'm lost! [Eb]Little Alice [D]cried. [Eb]Oh d[A]ear! The caterpillar wiggled. [D]On a mushroom it jumped. And then it jiggled. [A]I can't help you! The Caterpillar said, [D]The Queen wants [A]jam, she wants [Dm]the best! [A]The [D]Queen? Jam? said confused Little Alice, as Caterpillar pointed her towards the palace. Outside the golden palace gates, [Eb]a robot [Fm]whirred, [Eb]I'm late, I'm late! [Cm]To l[Eb]ittle [D]Alice the robot said, [Gm]The [Bb]queen needs [D]jam for her breakfast [Eb]bread A smart tin soldier was guarding the palace [D]Will [Eb]you help? I'm lost! [Cm]Said lost little [Gm]Alice [C]Have you brought some jam? [Cm]The [Fm]soldier said And [Cm]quick as a flash, [Eb]Alice nodded her head This way please, huffed the guard. He marched little [Cm]Alice across the yard, towards [Gm]the scary Queen who [Cm]owned the palace. Who [Eb]are you? said the Queen to Alice. Do you have [Bb]my jam? [Fm]shouted the Queen. [Eb]Her nose[Fm] was long and her voice was mean. No, [Eb]your majesty, said little Alice, but I can make some in [Bb]the palace So Alice [Eb]put strawberries and sugar in a pot She stirred it and stirred it and stirred it a [Cm]lot Soon the [Ab]jam was ready for the Queen [Eb]It was the reddest jam that she'd ever seen The [Gm]Queen tried the [Cm]jam with her morning toast[Eb], she said, [Bb]Delicious, [Eb]delicious the most! And the toys jumped for joy, [Fm]Wahoo! [Gm]Hey hey! Be[D]cause the Queen would finally [Em]let them play [D]May I go bac[A]k now? Little Alice said You [Eb]may," said the Queen, and nodded her head. [Gm]Whoosh! Alice [Fm]found herself under a tree, [Eb]back in the garden, in time for tea. Little Alice sat [Fm]down ready to [Eb]eat. There were jam sandwiches as a [Eb]treat. Oh, I've [Gm]had enough of jam, she said, may I please have one with cheese instead?
