1966, when he was twenty.
The first recording of this song was by Ronnie Burns in Australia. It was a top 20 hit for him in Australia in July 1967. The Abi and Esther Ofarim version was also out in mid [C]1967 on a [G]sin[C]gle[G]. T[C]hey work[G]ed mainly in Europe,
not the US, including Germany where the Bee Gees were very, [C]very popular, but I just don't know whether it was a [G]hit single.
