Put your hands together
for one of our dear friends,
we're delighted that you can come up and join us on guitar,
the one and only Mr. Jim Mullen.
Jim and I go way back,
in fact the first time,
I hope he doesn't mind me mentioning this,
The first time I bumped into him,
he was a big,
hairy monster.
We were playing at the Palermo Jazz Festival in Sicily in 1970,
I think it was, Jim was with Brian Auger at the time.
We're going to sing a blues
arranged by Harry South.
I've written some lyrics about when I first went to the Bull's
Head in Barnes on the bus to listen to Jimmy Witherspoon
singing with the Dick Morrissey Quartet.
Okay, this is the blues of the boom.
